Harry Nash Anestos

Jan 13, 1945 — Jun 24, 2026

Harry Nash Anestos, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at his son's home in American Falls, Idaho, surrounded by the love of his family.

Harry was born on January 13, 1945, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, to Tash Peter Anestos and Mavis Malphrus Anestos. His father, Tash, was born in Savannah, Georgia, to Greek immigrant parents, and his mother, Mavis, was a lifelong South Carolinian. During Harry's childhood, the family relocated to Athens, Greece, where his father served as Assistant Attaché at the U.S. Embassy from 1949 to 1962. Growing up in Greece instilled in Harry a deep appreciation for both his Greek heritage and his American roots.

Harry earned a Bachelor of Science degree and pursued graduate studies toward a master's degree in business through the University of Maryland. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972. Following his military service, he continued his service to the United States as an intelligence analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency, including his final overseas assignment in Greece, where he served for an additional twelve years.

After returning to the United States, Harry built a life centered on family. He made homes in Idaho, Washington, and California before eventually returning to Idaho to enjoy his retirement.

Above all else, Harry cherished his family. The years spent raising his three children Garrett, Tasha, and Hari, with his wife of 26 years, Kristine, were among the happiest of his life. It was a time full of soccer games, baseball, swim meets, dance performances and a family vacation when possible. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his brother and children. He also valued being an active member of the Greek Orthodox church.

Harry is survived by his sons, Garrett Anestos and Hari Anestos; his daughter, Tasha Anestos Snow; his sisters, Catherine (Curtis) Farrar and Anna Perreira; and his six beloved grandchildren: Luke Anestos, Ellie Anestos, Anistyn Anestos, Helena Snow, Tash Anestos, and Phoebe "Meeberz" Snow. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will remember his intelligence, unwavering patriotism, quiet strength, and the remarkable life he lived across two continents.

Harry's life was defined by service, perseverance, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
