IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hector
Garcia
January 12, 1956 – July 5, 2025
Hector Ramirez Garcia was born in San Pedro Tesistán, Jalisco, Mexico on January 12, 1956. He was the son of Genaro and Paz Garcia and grew up alongside his siblings. His early years were filled with school, playing soccer at every opportunity, and fishing to help support the family, using nets on Lake Chapala. At age 11, he joined the rest of his family and moved to Watsonville, California.
Hector made his home in several places over the years, including Watsonville, California; Afton, Wyoming; and Pocatello, Idaho. Throughout his life, he worked diligently in various fields—agriculture, the hospitality industry, and eventually running his own painting business. No matter the job, Hector poured his heart into his work. He was known as a hardworking man who always strived to provide for his loved ones.
Hector loved his wife, Lilia, and together they raised four children-Herb, Lisa (John), Vanessa (Jon), Alex(Tiffany). He found joy in spending time with his three grandchildren-Giovanni, Jacob, and Isabella, as well as his cherished sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, and many close friends who became like family. His affection also extended to his beloved fur grandpets, who never failed to bring a smile to his face. Hector was known for his warm hospitality, generous spirit, and especially his love of barbecuing—often bringing people together with good food and laughter. He had a special gift for making friends wherever he went.
A man of deep faith, Hector loved Jehovah God and served Him faithfully. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 22, 1995 in San Francisco, California. He remained spiritually active throughout his life. He cherished attending congregation meetings and participating in the ministry, finding joy and purpose in sharing his faith. Even when his health made it difficult to attend in person, Hector faithfully joined the meetings and service group via Zoom, staying closely connected to his spiritual family and his service to Jehovah.
Hector passed away on July 5, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his family takes great comfort in Jehovah’s promises. Like Hector, they hold firmly to the hope of the resurrection and look forward to the Bible’s promise of life on a paradise earth (Psalm 37:11). The comforting words of Isaiah 65:21, 22 and Revelation 21:4—promising time with loved ones, freedom from pain and sorrow, and the joy of meaningful work and good food—were especially dear to him. Until that day, Hector’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 1875 Cottage Ave, Pocatello, ID 83201.
