Beloved Wife, Loving Mother, and the Best Grandma Ever, Jane Cory, 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Pocatello, Idaho, on July 5, 2026.
Jane was born on June 17, 1951, in Ogden, Utah, to John and Evelyn Albers. She was the fifth of six children and was raised in Roy, Utah, where she graduated from Roy High School in 1969.
In 1972, Jane married Tom Hayes, and together they welcomed four children: Ryan, Trenton, Joshua, and Myranda. Although they later divorced, Jane devoted herself to raising her children and eventually returned to Utah with them.
In 1993, Jane met the love of her life, Lee Cory, in Roy, Utah. They married after moving to Great Falls, Montana, in 1996—a chapter Jane fondly referred to as “our great adventure.” After three wonderful years in Montana, they relocated to Pocatello, Idaho, in 1999 so they could both be closer to their aging mothers.
Jane worked in the office of an overhead door company before finishing her career as a dedicated school bus driver for special needs children. She retired in 2018 after years of faithfully serving her community.
Retirement was filled with the adventures she loved most. Jane spent her winters at her beloved Happy Trails Retirement Community in Surprise, Arizona, where she built many treasured friendships. Nearly every December included a trip to Mexico, and each spring she returned to Idaho to travel by RV, exploring national parks and countless other beautiful destinations with Lee.
Above all else, Jane cherished her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories while camping, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. She also found joy in crafting and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her warm heart, infectious laugh, quick wit, and genuine kindness drew people to her throughout her life—from lifelong friends she made in her younger years to the wonderful community she found at Happy Trails.
To those who knew her best, she wasn’t just Grandma—she was the best Grandma ever. Her hugs, laughter, unwavering love, and adventurous spirit created a lifetime of cherished memories for her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured grandmother, sister, and dear friend. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing her love will continue to guide us. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
