Karen Yukie Thomas

Karen Yukie Thomas passed away September 7, 2026, in Idaho Falls, ID, leaving behind a cherished legacy filled with warmth, quiet joys, and a spirited sense of adventure.

Born on April 13, 1957, and raised in Maui, Hawaii, Karen graduated from Maui High School with the Class of 1976. She later settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she raised her five children.

Karen was married to her former high school sweetheart, Donald Lee Thomas, affectionately known as "Wile E. Coyote". She was also a proud member of "The First Wives Club".

A true homebody at heart, Karen found joy in life's simple pleasures—tending to her garden, losing herself in a good book, diving into her favorite video games, and relaxing with a warm bath and a good foot rub at the end of the day. Yet, those who knew her well appreciated her wild side and her quick readiness for a little adventure or mischief whenever the mood struck.

Karen is survived by her loving children and their spouses: daughter Dawn Lee Morikawa of Lewisville, Idaho; son Joe Thomas and his wife Holly of Pick City, North Dakota; son Darrol Gene Thomas and his partner Jenny Radniecki of Ramsey, Minnesota; daughter Brandy Jean Farber and her husband James of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and son Wesley Eugene Thomas and his partner Anna Quach of Moses Lake, Washington.

Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Susumo and Jean Morikawa.
