LaVerne Hattie Cegielnik, 82, of Chubbuck, passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on March 17, 2025.  LaVerne was born September 17, 1942 in New Holstein, Wisconsin.  On February 27, 1965 she married the love of her life, John, at Holy Rosary in New Holstein, WI.  They soon started their family and 3 beautiful daughters – Katherine, Loretta and Janine.  The family moved from Fond du lac, WI to Pocatello, ID in 1977 where she started working at AMI for years, and then later started at Shopko where she would retire from.

LaVerne was happiest with her family around her. No holiday was too small to celebrate. LaVerne had an unmatched ability to turn a simple gathering into a magical event, filling her home with laughter, warmth, and the scent of homemade treats. Her love for the holidays was not just about the decorations and traditions but about bringing family together and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

LaVerne is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Cegielink, her mother and father, William and Emaline Thede, her sisters, Laura (John) Bangert, Alice (Elwood) Hintz, Leona (Clifford) Reinemann, her brother, Vernon Thede, mother in-law Bernice Cegielnik, brother in-law Raymond Cegielnik, sister in-laws Olga Paul and Loraine Thorten, son in-law Darrell Brunson.

LaVerne is survived by her three daughters, Katherine (Gary) Petersen, Loretta Dugan, Janine Grace, grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn) Brunson Bridger, Jesse Cegielnik, Michelle (TJ) Ward, Hailey (Ben) Dugan Zury, and Braxtyn Grace, great grandchildren, Emmaline Zury and Chloe Cegielnik, brother Roland (Katherine) Thede, sister Edna (Terry) Ninemann, sister in-law Ruth Thede.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in her hometown of New Holstein, WI where the family will gather and celebrate LaVerne.
