IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Loveday
Wood
October 1, 1953 – July 16, 2025
Our loving mother, grandmother, and wife Linda Loveday Wood, passed away peacefully in her home on July 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71.
Born October 1, 1953, Linda was the 2nd of 3 children of Blaine Ivor Loveday and Dorothy Virginia Loveday. She was a proud resident of Pocatello, Idaho, for the entirety of her life. She attended Pocatello High School and graduated in 1971.
Linda was a woman of many talents when it came to employment. She was very savvy with bookkeeping (which she did for many businesses and friends) and had an immense amount of knowledge in several fields due to a lot of life experience. She found her love for bartending in her 20’s and worked to serve the public at several establishments including Mr. Bills (now known as Duffy’s), Center Street Clubhouse, 1st National Bar, Miscues, The Motor Inn and the Bourbon Barrel Bar.
Linda later discovered her love for romance and became a non-denominational minister so she could marry couples in love. She provided these services at a cheaper cost than most because she really just enjoyed being a part of their big day (if she charged you at all). She was able to marry her daughter and longtime fiancée just 5 days before she passed.
She met her 2nd husband Robert Sanderson and married in 1986. She later had her first and only daughter with Robert in late 1987, Crystal. Who was her pride and joy.
Linda later met Mark Carter, whom she worked with at Karls Machine shop and the two were wed in 1990. Mark became a pivotal fixture in both her and Crystal’s lives. Although they later divorced, he continued to help Linda raise her daughter.
She finally met the love of her life, Rodney Wood, and was wed in 2009 and loved him until the end. Rodney and Linda later welcomed her only grandchildren in 2014 (Olivia Armenta), and 2019 (Emilia Armenta), both of whom she absolutely adored.
Linda enjoyed many things in her life including gardening, camping, cooking, billiards, music and her family (especially her grandchildren who meant the world to her and would always put a smile on her beautiful face). She always made sure that the people she cared about were fed and shown love. She would literally give the shirt off her back to make sure someone had comfort. She knew that the serving industry depended on tips and would always make sure that the person was paid for helping her no matter the person’s employment. She tipped a turkey to a cab driver for Thanksgiving, she tipped the grocery store clerks and even tried to tip the CNA while hospitalized. She loved and cared deeply for everyone around her. She was selfless, generous, and kind.
She found the most joy during Christmas. She loved to give to others and was known for her sweet hot mustard. She would make several gallons to gift and/or sell to people during this time. She was known as the “mustard lady”. This legacy will be carried on for many years to come.
Linda is survived by her husband, Rodney Wood; daughter, Crystal (Tommy) Armenta; granddaughters, Olivia and Emilia Armenta; brother, Virgil (Joyce) Loveday; plus, many friends of whom she calls family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy V. Loveday (whom was her best friend and confidant), father, Blaine I. Loveday, brother, Larry Loveday, and her best and longtime friend, Abel Ramos.
Linda had a heart of gold, and she will be dearly missed by so many.
There will be a celebration of life held for Linda on August 30, 2025 at FMC park (time will be announced at a later date).
Last but not least, we would like to thank Heritage Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional care and support that was given to her, her family and loved ones over the last couple of weeks.
Rest easy our beautiful angel. Your love and kindness will live on through all that was blessed to have you in our lives.
