Obituary

Nancy Watson, beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home in Chubbuck, Idaho, on February 24, 2026, at the age of 62 after a brief illness.

Born on January 11, 1964, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Gudrun Sullivan and Karlheinz Muller, Nancy brought warmth and kindness to everyone she met throughout her life. Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Curt Watson; her son, Richard Gatlin Groberg; and her sister, Christine York. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Rick John Groberg, and her infant son, John Andy Groberg.

After high school, Nancy moved to Utah where she raised her son and worked in office roles, including work in public broadcasting where her passion for creativity, learning, and curiosity shone brightly. In her personal time, she found joy in cooking, reading, and crafting—especially her inventive candle-making and painting. She also loved to travel, whether it was a short day trip through the Wasatch mountains, or a long weekend in Southern Utah with her son where he still remembers the views from Dead Horse Point to this day. She sought out the bright spots in life and made a conscious effort to savor each moment of joy she encountered.

Nancy found love again when she married Curt Watson in 2010, spending her remaining years with an extraordinary man who cherished her deeply. Together, they eventually moved to Idaho and built a life filled with joy and companionship.

Nancy's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the deep love she shared with her family. Her gift for fostering meaningful connections serves as an enduring reminder that a life well-lived is measured not in years, but in the positive impact we have on others.

In lieu of services, the family encourages friends and loved ones to honor Nancy's memory by embracing the values she embodied: curiosity, kindness, and a dedication to making the world a little brighter for those around us.
