Robert "Bob" Brown

Robert "Bob" Brown passed away peacefully August 30, 2026, at 79 years old.

Born to Lael & Clara Brown in Logan, UT. His early years were spent on the farm in Trenton where he enjoyed hunting with his father and brother and developed an appreciation for the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life. Growing up his parents led the way in entrepreneurship and investments that taught Bob the importance of creativity, self-reliance and hard work. Skills Bob would utilize and share throughout his life.

Bob graduated from Logan high where he had found friendship with Sandra Thorne, this friendship later turned into lifelong partnership and the love of a lifetime when they wed at age 21. Sandra was Bob's best friend until the very end and the two shared many wonderful adventures and built a beautiful life in Pocatello, Idaho.

Bob served four years in the army and was honorably discharged to further his education. Bob did just that, often citing that while this stage of life was particularly difficult, it brought him to the second biggest joy of his life: education. Bob had a doctorate in Philosophy and a masters in business administration. He settled into a career teaching Strategic Management where he shared more than just knowledge, building many connections and friendships that followed him through life. Bob never lost the love for knowledge nor the gift of sharing it, often found in a quizzical conversation, philosophical debate or just passing his bits of wisdom on in conversation.

Bob worked hard but always made time for play. Fishing was his favorite pastime, especially fly fishing; he once tied his own flies and built his own fly-fishing poles, just another example of how much he loved to learn. He also enjoyed hunting, golf, reading, and spending time with friends. He was a talented woodworker and engineered a sawhorse design that our family still swears by to this day. His extensive book collection reflected his lifelong curiosity and love of reading. A seafood dinner, an old Western, and a great tune were some of his simple pleasures.

Bob lived a life full of diversity, mastery and success. His legacy lives on through the people he taught, the friendships he formed, the family he loved, and the knowledge he so freely shared with anyone willing to engage.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lael and Clara, younger brother Michael and his nephew Mathew.

Survived by his beautiful wife Sandra, and his niece and Nephew - Jennifer Nielsen and Todd (Stacey) Brown as well as their children. Bob was an amazing uncle to all 3 generations of his surviving family and will be missed dearly.
