IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Troy
Nelson
September 30, 1962 – December 25, 2025
Troy Lenn Nelson was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, on September 30, 1962. He was raised in Arco, Idaho where upon graduating from high school in 1980, Troy attended both the University of Idaho and Idaho State University in business and engineering.
In March of 1986, he married Katherine J Nelson in the First Baptist Church of Arco.
Troy was briefly employed at Hirning’s Cadillac and at the Idaho National Laboratory for the Naval Reactors Facility before building Nelson Enterprises, his lawn care, tree service and snow removal business in 1989. Through the years, Troy and Kathy raised three children in Pocatello.
Troy was a member of the First Baptist Church in both Arco and then in Pocatello where he spent many years participating in the life of the church body. Together with Kathy and their children and grandchildren, Troy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and exploring southeast Idaho on ATVs, RZRs and 6-wheelers. Troy enjoyed playing the piano, harmonica and singing.
On Christmas Day, surrounded by his loved ones, Troy stepped into Heaven and God’s Presence, free from the pain and suffering of an aggressive cancer. No more pain; no more suffering. In lieu of monetary gifts or flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Valley Mission https://www.valleymission.org/donate for ministry to the people in the community.
Troy is survived by his wife Kathy; daughters, Kristie Jo (Noah) Hess, and Kassidie Lenn (Ben) Lampe; son, Tyler James Nelson of Jackson Hole, WY; brother, Taren Nelson (Joyce) of Clarkston, WA; and mother, Gail Robinson of Idaho Falls; and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew (Dusty) Lenn Nelson and adoptive father, Jack Wendell Robinson.
